Fests and Fromage

So many fun festy things to do this weekend, including...
Taste of Wisconsin in Kenosha
Roma Lodge Italian Festival in Racine
Falls Fest in Menomonee Falls
German Fest in Milwaukee
Milwaukee Brewfest
Riverwest 24 Hour Bike Race in Milwaukee

Even vegans can enjoy these food-focused events...search out fresh fruit and nuts, veggie wraps or try a soft pretzel. For me it's mostly about people-watching, music-stomping and general joviality.  :)

One of my faves is the Brady Street Festival in Milwaukee. Everything from crazyfun music and BMX'ing to creative crafts and yoga and of course superamazing eats and drinks!
You can find Quinoa-stuffed Roasted Zucchini at Balzac Wine Bar, Veggie Burritos at Brewed, Hummus at Casablanca, even Italian White Roasted Ceci (Chickpeas) at Glorioso's...I always go home with boatloads of Ceci!  :)

Try to ignore the Cheesefest area. If you get an uncontrollable urge to chow on some cheese, make your own! Start with an easy cashew-based recipe...
