Vanilla cupcakes always remind me of grade school bake sales. Remember those? Every month or so a school group would send home flyers announcing "Bake Sale Friday!"...we'd have to remind Mom or Dad to give us a dollar or two that day which we'd tuck away in sweet anticipation. At lunchtime we'd line up at the bake sale table and sweep up whatever treats were left...lunch times were arranged by grades so the youngest kids always got first dibs. Vanilla cupcakes, peanut butter cookies and brownies were highly prized bake sale booty...I however was a krispie treat fiend. ;)
